OMGF Pro (Host Google Fonts Locally) helps you eliminate external Google Fonts requests by serving them directly from your own WordPress server, ensuring full GDPR compliance and improved performance. By preventing user IP addresses from being sent to Google, it addresses privacy concerns while also reducing DNS lookups and leveraging browser caching. The plugin automatically detects fonts used by your theme and plugins and replaces remote requests with optimized local copies.
Host Google Fonts Locally works in either Manual or Automatic mode, giving you control over how fonts are detected and optimized. In Automatic mode, it captures requests to Google’s font domains, downloads the required files, generates cross-browser compatible stylesheets (EOT, TTF, WOFF, WOFF2), and rewrites URLs to point to local versions. It also supports font preloading, CDN delivery, and advanced optimizations like combining and deduplicating stylesheets in the Pro version, helping reduce page size and loading time.
